Join us at Maryland Public Television (MPT) for a fun-filled day as we celebrate the newest PBS KIDS show
 Carl The Collector!

MPT is located at 11767 Owings Mills Blvd., Owings Mills MD 21117

Here's what you can look forward to:

- General Admission - participate at your own pace from 10am-2pm.

- Arts & Crafts - participate in a variety of arts and crafts, appropriate for all ages and abilities.

- Screening Room - catch an episode of Carl the Collector and snap a photo with our Carl standee.

- Games & Activities - complete the Carl the Collector scavenger hunt and win a prize!  Start your very own sticker collection! Or join us in the studio for a dance party!  There is so much to do.

- Resources for Families - learn more about autism acceptance and neurodiverse conditions from our community partners.

- Sensory-friendly Space - take a break, relax, and refocus in our sensory-friendly room.

- Comfy Dress Code - please come in your coziest, comfiest pajamas!

- MPT Family Members Only Pancake Breakfast (8:30-9:30am) - come hungry and enjoy a pancake breakfast with all the fixin's.  Don't have a family membership?  Not to worry, you can sign up below.

This event is FREE to participate, but advance registration is required.

A sensory-inclusive event

This event has been thoughtfully designed to offer an enjoyable experience for individuals and families of all varying abilities and sensitivities.  We invite you to attend the event at your own pace and please bring any aids those in your party may need to be more comfortable.  Please note: temperature, lighting, and noise levels fluctuate throughout our building.  Some spaces may be overstimulating.  We will have a lending library available in the lobby with (limited) supplies such as noise-canceling headphones, fidgets, sunglasses, weighted blankets/vests, and visors. 

About Carl The Collector 

The PBS KIDS program Carl the Collector premiered on November 14, 2024. The show centers on Carl, an autistic raccoon with a passion for collecting various items, and his diverse group of friends. The series aims to authentically portray autism through Carl's interactions and behavior, supported by a neurodiverse production team.

Meet the Characters

Sheldon, an empathetic beaver, and Carl's best friend, Lotta, a red fox who is autistic and has sound sensitivities,  Nico and Arugula, pink rabbit identical twins with contrasting personalities, Forrest, a squirrel who is hyperactive and impulsive, also has a nut allergy.

Registration

General Admission is open to the general public, current, and past MPT members.  General admission is from 10am-2pm.

MPT Family Members are invited to a pancake breakfast before the event from 8:30am-9:30pm.  You are required to put your member number in the field below.

New MPT Family Members -  learn more about the MPT Family Zone membership benefits here.  You can register for this event, the pancake breakfast, and your membership all together.

  • Watch + Play Kids Day is free to attend, but advance registration is required.

  • We invite our Family Members to enjoy a pancake breakfast before the main event. Breakfast is served from 8:30am-9:30am. After breakfast, stay and enjoy the event at your own pace.
